The Cinema Snowglobe, a project in progress by artists, designers, and inventors JD Beltran and Scott Minneman, was conceived and invented at The Workshop Residence. Shown at the right is the Cinema Snowglobe: Golden Gate Bridge, which features a virtual journey across the Golden Gate Bridge in the palm of your hand. These 21st century snowglobes marry the nostalgic form of the snowglobe with cutting-edged technology. They can feature moving images, still images, drawings, photographs, film, and video. The final version of the Cinema Snowglobe will utilize a high-definition screen and 4k 360-degree video that will enable one to rotate and tilt the snowglobe to immerse oneself in and explore an entire landscape.
